The thought pop-up in my mind — “what if Mesh brings mars into mixed reality!” Because if this happens in the future it will be a huge opportunity for an ordinary man to witness the planet Mars which otherwise is a dream in sleep only.

What Microsoft Mesh exactly is?

recently, I come across an article dialogue on how Microsoft Mesh has brought mixed reality (powered by Azure) on the board.

You must have enjoyed the 3D, 5D, 7D, and 12D rides. However, Microsoft Mesh is more than that.

Mesh works on virtual mixed reality technology. It connects you to a place virtually (let suppose a conference) and do share content with your virtual presence in 3D through mixed reality application/devices.

Let the curiosity goes on.

Is Mesh accessible?

Mesh can be accessed on HoloLens 2, VR headsets, Mobile phones, tablets, or PC (having Mesh-enabled app).

Is this practically possible?

Well, yes. Microsoft has already experimented with mixed reality on 2nd March 2021. The company displayed at Microsoft’s Ignite Digital Conference via Holoportation for the first time. People attended the conference sitting at living space, garden, and home offices across the world. They submit their presence as avatars via the holographic world.

How the idea of mixed-reality took place?

In Microsoft Technical Fellow Alex Kipman words, “This has been the dream for mixed reality, the idea from the very beginning. You can actually feel like you’re in the same place with someone sharing content or you can teleport from different mixed reality devices and be present with people even when you’re not physically together.”

Tweet from the CEO

On 3rd March 2021, Microsoft CEO Satya Nadella tweeted-

What is the future of Mesh?

Certainly, there are many areas where mesh can reserve its position. Let us see discover a few.

- Mesh can enable an environment for employees to work from their homes, attend meetings and conferences, organize virtual summits/meet-ups, and assist their mate across the other end of the world.

- Engineers or Medical students can learn and experiment online as avatars they can perform experiments and operations together, can work on projects, can built machines, and more.

- Scientists can discover secrets hidden beneath the oceans and seas or beyond space.

There seem to be unlimited opportunities for ordinary as well as experts of various fields. Bringing mixed reality into reality can be another notable achievement in the field of science and technology.

Microsoft has never lagged in terms of innovation, intelligence, and inspiration. I believe that’s the reason a thought like — “who knows if Mesh brings mars into mixed reality!” pop-up in my mind.
